Dr. Kalykakis graduated from the Dental School of the University of Liège, Belgium in 1991. In 1993 he completed his Promotion to Dr. med. dent. and his post-doctoral specialisation in Perioprosthetics at University of Aachen, Germany in 1993 (Heads: Prof. H. Spiekermann/Asc. Prof. G. K. Zafeiropoulos). He also followed the Post-Graduate Programme in Dental Prosthetics at the Dental School of University of Geneva in Switzerland in 1994 (Heads: Prof. U. Belser/Dr. H.W.A. Wiskott) and the Post-Graduate Programme in Oral surgery and Dental implants at the Dental School of the University of Liège, Belgium in 1997 (Heads: Prof R. Legrand/Prof. S. Vanakendover).
He has been appointed as External Assistant Professor, Dept. of Prosthodontics, (Heads: Prof. H. Spiekermann/Asc. Prof. G. K. Zafeiropoulos), University of Aachen, Germany between 1991-1993, as External Assistant Professor, Dept. of Fixed Prosthodontics and Occlusion, University of Geneva, Switzerland (Prof U. Belser) between 1992-1994, as Assistant Professor and Supervisor at the Dept. of Dentistry, Division of Oral Surgery, Oral Implantology and Periodontology, University of Liège, Belgium between 1994-1999 (Head: Prof. Prof R. Legrand); as External Assistant Professor, Dept. of Geriatric Dentistry and Removable Prosthodontics, University of Geneva, Switzerland (Head: Prof. E. Budtz - Jörgensen) between 1992-1994.
Dr. Kalykakis has numerus international presentations and publications in the fields of Implantology, Periodontology and Geriatric Dentistry and he holds memberships to many prestigious associations and academies.
From 1994 to 2017 he collaborated in different private dental practices in Germany and Belgium however; since 1999, he maintains his private dental practice in Heraklion GR-Crete.
