Gingival recessions around implants: reasons, classification, and treatment options.
Gingival recessions are the most visible and unesthetic adverse events in dental implantology.Beside this often higher infection rates can be seen due to the appearance of plaque adhesive implant surfaces.
Task force of the lecture is to understand the reasons for peri-implant tissue loss, to give clinical oriented classification and score for a better risk assessment even in neighboring implants, and finally to demonstrate and discuss surgical and prosthetic treatment options. Although the scientific literature is lacking, the new classification is discussed on scientific background..
