Biographical Info
Dr. Panos Gakis earned his dental degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Dentistry in 2012. After graduation, he served as a dental officer in the Hellenic National Army. In 2018, he completed a 3 year advanced specialty training in Prosthodontics and received a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology from Texas A&M University, School of dentistry. In 2018, Dr. Gakis joined the faculty of UT Health San Antonio, as a clinical assistant professor. In 2021, he became the interim program director for the Graduate Prosthodontics Program. In 2019, Dr Gakis received the 3rd place Stanley D. Tylman award from the American Academy of fixed Prosthodontics for his research. In 2020, he became Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr Gakis is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. His area of expertise includes Clinical Prosthodontics, Digital Dentistry and Dental Laboratory Technologies.
